Sony Creative, which makes video and audio editing software has linked to AMD to build a 64-bit technology preview version of Vegas.
The editing software runs on 64-bit Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor-based and AMD Quad FX computing platforms.

It was shown off running a native 64-bit pre-release version of Vegas software running on AMD64 processor-based hardware and 64-bit Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate operating system.

Sony vice president Dave Hill said that HD content production workflows really push 32-bit computing platforms to the limit.

However these limits are removed when you combine the 64-bit Vista operating system, native 64-bit software and 64-bit hardware technologies from processor providers like AMD.
