Hekas starting at €118

New Phenoms
are sprouting like mushrooms on a number of price search engines, but unfortunately we still don't know the MSRPs for most of them.

AMD is launching two three-core Heka 45nm CPUs, the AMD Phenom II X3 710 and 720 Black Edition. The 710 is clocked at 2.6GHz, has 3x 512kB of L2 and 6MB of shared L3 cache and it costs €118, while the 720 Black Edition runs at 2.8GHz and costs €138. They are both AM3 socket, DDR3 compatible but they will work with AM2+ boards and DDR2.

Three new quads are coming too. The offer starts with the Phenom II X4 805 clocked at 2.5GHz, with 4x512kB of L2 cache, and 4MB of shared L3 cache, and its sibling, the 810, runs at 2.6GHz and it should cost €168. The 910 also runs at 2.6GHz, but has 6MB of L3 cache and we still don't have the price. Again, these CPUs are native AM3 DDR3 models but they work with DDR2 and AM2+ motherboards.

A word of warning, take these prices with a grain of salt, as they don't make much sense and will probably drop significantly as soon as the CPUs launch. For example, the list price for the 810 is just €7 lower than the 920's list price, and the 920 is 300MHz faster and has more cache.

You can find the listings here.
