Intel prepares to announce yet another Pentium dual-core CPU and this time it plans to brand it E5500. This is an evolutionary step from Pentium dual-core E5400 clocked at 2.7GHz as this new E5500 works only 100MHz faster.

So it's clocked at 2.8GHz has an 800MHz FSB, 2MB of cache, naturally two cores and 65W TDP. Intel has one fairly similar product called E6300 and this CPU has the same 2.8GHz frequency and the only real difference is that E6300 supports FSB1066.

This CPU should probably show up in early Q2 to replace the E5400 and once it launches it should be selling for $74 wholesale price.
