Roundup: Four new parts launched, one reviewed

As expected, AMD has finally lifted the NDA veil off its FX Series desktop CPUs based on the Bulldozer architecture and 32nm manufacturing process. Although the entire FX Series lineup includes seven parts, today is the offical launch day for four parts, two octa-core FX-8150 and FX-8120, one hexa core, FX-6100 and one quad core, FX-4100.

The fastest one, or the flagship model, is the FX-8150, an octa-core clocked at 3.6GHz with 8MB of L2 and 8MB of L3 cache, 125W TDP and a US $245 price tag. It has a 3.9GHz Turbo Core and 4.2GHz Max Turbo clock and is priced at US $245. This one is closely followed by the FX-8120, an octa-core as well, clocked at 3.1GHz with same amount of cache, 3.4GHz Turbo Core and 4.0GHz Max Turbo clocks and a 95/125W TDP. The FX-8120 is priced at US $205.

The hexa-core FX-6100 works at 3.3GHz with a 3.6GHz Turbo Core and 3.9GHz Max Turbo, has 6MB of L2 and 8MB of L3 cache, 95W TDP and a US $165 price tag. The last, but not least, is the quad-core FX-4100. It works at 3.6GHz with 3.7GHz Turbo core and 3.8GHz Max Turbo, has 4MB of L2 and 8MB of L3 cache, 95W TDP and comes with a US $115 price tag.

All four models are already shipping and are listed in most markets. Unfortunately, most sites have published a review of the FX-8150 flagship and honestly things are not looking that good for AMD. You can check out some reviews below, including a single review of the FX-6100 done by Pcekspert.com and although it is written in Croatian, it is possible to get a clear picture regarding the performance.
