Five Phenom IIs reach end of life
All 45nm SOI, by December 2012
AMD has informed its partners that some of its beloved 45nm SOI processors have reached the end of the life.
The list includes five Phenom II X4 or X2 processors that will reach end of life status by December 2012. The fastest of them is AMD Phenom II X4 965 with 3.4GHz core clock, 125W TDP and 8MB cache. It will reach the end of life already in September 2012.
The runner up that EOL’s in December 2012 is Phenom II X4 955 with its 3.2GHz clock, the same old Deneb 45nm SOI core that is also looking to buy a condo in Florida.
Three dual-core Phenom processors will also reach EOL. Phenom II X2 parts based on the Calisto 45 nm SOI core where two cores are disabled of the quad-core design. Phenom II X2 565 with 3.4GHz, 560 with 3.3GHz clock and AMD Phenom II X2 555 with 3.2GHz clock, all 80W TDP, 7MB cache and DDR3 1333 support will also retire in December 2012.
AMD is slowly saying its final goodbye to 45nm SOI as it has enough better performing 32nm SOI processors to offer.
