Up and running with Radeon VII

In addition to details regarding 2nd generation EPYC CPUs, AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, also gave a preview of its third generation Ryzen CPU.

While it still did not talk about precise specifications, AMD did debunk some of the previous rumors that the 3rd generation Ryzen might not be using the so-called chiplet design, as the chip proudly shown by Dr. Su, was the 8-core/16-thread SKU based on the same chiplet design, with 7nm Zen 2 die and I/O die, same design we saw with AMD Rome.

The system was also up and running together with Radeon VII GPU and it even managed to beat Intel's system in Cinebench R15 and use much less power compared to an unknown but comparable Intel system.

AMD was also keen to note that 3rd generation Ryzen will be offering support for PCIe 4.0, and still use the same AM4 platform.
