Beats competition to the market

Buffalo has just beaten its competitors bz announcing availability of its WZR-D1800H 802.11ac router, as well as the WLI-H4-D1300 wireless media bridge, both of which are available at Newegg.com.

Netgear recently announced that it will ship its first 802.11ac router during this month but Buffalo is certainly the first one to be available. The new WZR-D1800H 802.11ac router and WLI-H4-D1300 media bridge promise wireless transfer speeds of up to 1.3Gbps.

The 802.11ac standard is yet to be ratified and we are still far away from those promised 1.3Gbps lands. Specs wise, the WZR-D1800H features one Gigabit WAN and four Gigabit LAN connections, dual band wireless with support for up to 1.3Gbps at 5GHz or dual 450Mbps at 2.4GHz mode, has one USB 2.0 port and is naturaly backward compatible with 802.11abgn standards. It also supports all standard security features including WPA2-PSK (AES, TKIP), WPA-PSK (AES, TKIP), and 128/64-bit WEP.

The WLI-H4-D1300 Airstation wireless media bridge is pretty much identical but, of course, features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as the same dual band wireless options.

Both are currently selling at Newegg.com for US $179.99 each.
