AMD hasn’t been the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to laptops for a long time but it looks like this is about to change very soon. Lisa Su, AMD's charismatic CEO, confirmed that Mobile Ryzen will be shipping for the holiday season. You can expect to see some announcements rather soon.

Lisa Su was asked at Q2'17 investors conference call about the mining market and she was brave enough to say that the company didn’t plan its financials on the mining market boom. This sales tsunami did give AMD a great quarter,  but at the expense that plucky gamers could not buy any cards.

$329 to $499 to challenge $1,050 Core i7 6900k

AMD's CEO Lisa Su took to the stage to formally introduce the AMD Ryzen 7 series of CPUs. One of the key points made in the introduction was a previous revisit of the idea that high performance computing defines the user experience. AMD did a great job pricing the parts making them really aggressive and affordable and managed to increase the IPC by at much as 52 percent.

At its scheduled New Horizon event, AMD has now officially confirmed its branding for the  Zen CPU architecture, now to be known as the Ryzen. As we said before, the only SKU announced and detailed so far is the 8-core/16-thread CPU.
