PC & Mac version still a month away

Those
hooked on the game Guitar Hero will most likely have been found in line Sunday morning, October 28th, for the midnight launch. Distributor Activision tried something a little different with the weekend launch of Guitar Hero III with its midnight launch at more than 3,000 retail stores. Eager Guitar Hero III players lined up to be among the first to lay their hands on this title.

Titled Guitar Hero III: Legends the game will feature in-game appearances by Slash from Gun ‘n Roses, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Bret Michaels from Poison. Slash and Morello will appear in the boss battles within the game. The game will also add online play and a new multiplayer battle mode to the established game play found in previous versions of the game.

Guitar Hero III will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 2/3 and Wii with the early Sunday morning launch. Aspyr will be handling the conversion of Guitar Hero III to the PC and Mac platforms and hopes to have the PC and Mac versions available by next month in time for the holiday shopping season. Xbox 360 owners are already able to download a five song demo from Xbox Live.
