And prioritizes developing for the Wii

After numerous companies already announced lay-offs, Disney Interactive joined the crowd as Kotaku reported that approximately 70 people will get the boot.

Since the initial report, it has been revealed that the number of laid off people will be closer to 50, as Propaganda Games, Vancouver based dev-team, will be lighter by less than 30 employees. Additional lay-offs are put under the “restructuring” label and will count less than 20.

The “restructuring”, which will see Utah-based “Fall Line Studio consolidated into Avalanche”, is also going to result in putting the emphasis on Nintendo’s Wii platform, which Disney Interactive described as very important for them. This seems to be quite a popular move lately, as the Wii seems strangely immune to the crisis.

Also, since Propaganda Games is the team behind Turok, many were quick to dismiss the sequel to this title as being canned, although it was actually never officialy announced.
