Tabula Rasa came to an end this weekend with the servers being shut down on Saturday. Normally, the end of a MMO game would not be that newsworthy, but it seems this time the developers have taken the opportunity to create an end of sorts for the game itself.

It seems that NCSoft Austin has created a final assault ending where all of the good guys ultimately die. From what we hear the game has been overrun by an unstoppable horde of aliens, creating the need for total destruction and leaving everyone dead.

Before Tabula Rasa ended, it became a free-to-play MMO game, and despite this last ditch effort to attract players, the game just never really caught on with the audience. The NCSoft Austin developers, to their credit, continue to patch, update, and develop new content for the game, but it just could not seem to make any headway despite their best efforts.

From our understanding, since the departure of Richard Garriott from NCSoft his name being dropped from the title and it is unlikely that Tabula Rasa will return in a future version of the franchise. The ending to the MMO game is unique and perhaps will be what the title will be best remembered for.
