Review: GTX 460 1GB Beast beats GTX 470

All Point of View / TGT cards look almost the same, with the main difference being the card’s name on the fan.

GTX 460 cards use reference cooling. There was no need to change this as the cooler is efficient and quiet.

The card offers two dual-link DVI outs and a mini-HDMI.

Point of View / TGT GTX 460 cards feature a blue PCB with one SLI connector. This means that you can chain up to two cards and improve graphics performance. Note, however, that it isn’t possible to mix GTX 460 768MB and GTX 460 1GB cards.

The card is powered via two 6-pin PCI Express power cables. The connectors are at the end of the card but that won’t be a problem when using it in smaller cases as the GTX 460 is only 21.1cm long.

If your priority is bragging rights, it is the card for you, but if not, then for the same amount I'd get the 470, since the charts are comparing them to a reference 470, meaning with no overclock yet.

not very impressed looking at the metro2033 scores, I'll wait for next-gen cards.

Can't see the point of these overclocked cards at that price point.I picked up a very nice Gigabyte 1GB GTX460 at £170 Delivered.I can clock that to 820Mhz and 4Ghz for the memory should the game demand it.That is very good value for money in my book.

460 GTX beast is a mainstreem card and no overclock will make it high end. Just compare it with 480 GTX.

Wait until 6770 comes out which will probably be on par with the beast version while drowing 50 - 60W less power according the rumors that are floating around.

Also Nvidia in order to beat the upcoming 6870 should release a full 384 sp GF104 and clock it at 1GHz and call it 460 Bitch version.
