Review: Factory overclocked

Aliens vs Predator

GTX 580 Golden Sample outruns the reference GTX 580 by about 4.8% in Aliens Vs Predator. The same card proves that it’s the fastest single-GPU card on our test and it does great at 2560x1600 as well, scoring a playable frame rate. As for the GTX 480, Gainward GTX 580 golden Sample outpaces it by up to 26%.

Dirt 2

Performance difference between the GTX 580 GS and GTX 580 in Dirt 2 pretty much stayed the same as in the previous test, only both cards scored higher.

Only 30MHz overclocked and with shitty reference cooling? I might pass on that one ;-)

Althought I do not support Nvidia generally I have to disagree. The reference cooling of 580 is quite good: it can cool the monstrous 270W gpu. On the other hand 5870 and 6870 couling sucks compared to 580. But it does not matter as ati cards have much lower power consumption.

Do you want a shity nvidia toaster, which manages to make a 3 FPS difference over 5970 on AvsP, at a whopping ass 544w and 90º CELSIUS DEGREES (AKA new Iranian Nuclear plant)?

I dont think so :-)
