Sony’s new Fusion powered Vaio priced in EU

11.6-incher for €499
We’ve come across an interesting listing for Sony’s new Y-series Vaio, an ultraportable 11.6-incher based on AMD’s Fusion APU.

The VPC-YB1S1E/S is based on AMD’s new dual-core E-350 APU, clocked at 1.6GHz. It packs integrated HD 6310 graphics, 2GB of memory, 320GB of storage, HDMI out, 3 USBs and a multitouch trackpad.

There are also a few other interesting features, such as an ExpressCard/34 slot, Bluetooth and draft-n wireless, as well as a memory card reader. The new Fusion Vaio weighs 1.5kg, but sadly there is no word on battery life yet.

Best of all, it is priced at €499, which sounds rather reasonable considering the spec. For comparison, the same model with Intel’s Core i3-380UM, 4GB of memory and 500GB of storage costs €699, so it’s quite obvious that AMD’s offering is significantly cheaper even if we take the extra memory and storage out of the equation.
