PowerColor HD 6850 PCS+ tested - 2. A closer look at HD 6850 PSC+

Review
: Another Batmobile

PowerColor HD 6850 PCS+ looks pretty nice and the hood seriously makes the card resemble the futuristic racing car pictured on the box. Actually it uses the cooler from bigger brother HD 6870 PSC+.

front2

The HD 6870 PCS+ cooling is dual slot and the card is 22.5cm long. The fan is 9cm in diameter and is connected to the 3-pin connector. Fan speed regulation can be performed via the Catalyst Overdrive or any other tool you may prefer.
power

The I/O panel features one DisplayPort 1.2 connector, one HDMI 1.4a and two DVI connectors (one of them is single-link with maximum resolution of 1920x1200).

video-out

Just like the Radeon HD 6870, Radeon HD 6850 comes with only one CrossFire connector. This means that you can only use two cards in 2-way CrossFire.

video-2

HD 6850 PCS+'s heatsink uses three heatpipes to draw heat from the GPU core. The GDDR5 memory chips are made by Hynix (model number H5GQ1H24AFR-T2C). They are specified to run at 1250 MHz (effective 5000 MHz).

Radeon HD 6850 consumes 127W at max so it will require one 6-pin power connector. Software voltage control via I2C is not possible due to use  of more cost effective voltage regulator uP6213.

3D MARK, AVP, METRO, UNIENGINE ??

You guys still review using this shit? HOLY CRAP you are pathetic.

First of all keep the benchmark tools to the FirePro workstation cards and secondly give us some actual decent games like Bad Company 2 or at least shit people actually like.

Will you please try if this card can be flashed to a 6870?

It's the 6950 that has a possibility of being flashed to a 6970 not this one.

guideX did you forget to take your meds this morning?

Are you %100 sure that you can't make this one a 6870?
PS: Corrected.

you reckon nobody likes avp or metro? :-*
also, if a card is tested, you want to test its max capabilities, performance in bad company 2 is a given if it can play the more challenging games.
