AMD rolls out Catalyst 11.1

Written by Fudzilla staff

Performance increases for 6000 series
AMD has released Catalyst 11.1 WHQL with the promise of several performance increases on HD 6900 and HD 6800 cards.

Performance in F1 2010 has been improved by up to 12 percent on 6000-series cards, while 5800 users can expect a 10 percent boost. Left 4 Dead 2 got a 17 percent performance boost on 6800-series cards and 10 percent on 5800 products.

There are also a number of fixes for a bunch of issues under Windows 7, Vista and XP.

As usual, you can get the new drivers here.

the colors especially "the green" is more fluorescent-green than bright green through hdmi output they should really pay attention to hdmi outputs but i think i should be happy that this catalyst recognized my 6970..10.12 did not very poor performance improvement...i liked better ati drivers..

they`re either on vacation or only small steps for some improvement ,they have done more damage than improvements maybe in cf mode there are some ...for my hd 6970 the 11.1 driver in catalyst is reported as 10.11 either they are very busy with 6990 or something or incompetent.

Hmm in control center indeed they seem to be 10.12 version althought there are new dated, the driver is "12/1/2011" and its version is "8.820.2.0" but why on earth the catalyst control center report it as "10.12"?

Anyway don't care really about it as long as its more stable and has better performance :-}

P.S. Very happy that I got rid my previous Nvidia card(Geforce 8800 - 512mb), my radeon 6850 with 1GB GDDR5 memory works PERFECT ;}

this (11.1)driver works very well in my 6950......I can play full settings 16AA & 8MSAA. with no problem...only in single card with ave. 30-60FPS. Got failed in 10.12 and 10.12 + hotfix.
