Compared to the GTX 570, which is currently the more affordable deal

Yes it is more afforadble. You save 10$ which is a huge 2.8% price difference. (calculated by using Newegg numbers)

Why do they use this stupid stock-cooling for high end cards, its a shame for actually a very good card to have such crazy temps and noise.

Who sad stock-cooling is bad?!
In this case it is very nice solution - more than that it lucks like an old stile but equip a Vapor Chamber technology like Sapphire Vapor-X design!
And a big "+" is that turbine eliminate hot air out of the case!

Agreed, but in this case Thermal design point needs a Phantom cooler!
For the other part such a top class chip is smiling on 100'C, not a problem

But why having 100° if it lowers the life span and its very possible to have 80° or even 70°
+ almost no noise

Phantom, Twin Frozer, etc, etc

its a high end card for high end price, with mid class cooler :/

LOL, the card is designed to take the heat, so no it won't diminish it's life span. NV's Fermi on the other hand is a different story, that card will die in a matter of months especially when cooking eggs on it.

Its the same silicon, and extreme temps are not good for it, besides that it heats the other close components too. This "designed for high temps" was the bs NV said and not AMD btw ^^
