Sequel for Homefront is the plan

Written by David Stellmack

Will depend on success of first release
While Homefront has not even been released yet, talk of a possible sequel is already happening. Chatter about a sequel to the first Homefront has already been happening, but of course any sequel is contingent on the success of the first release.

While Kaos studio head David Votypka says, “…that is certainly the plan,” he also hints that Homefront 2 could introduce a new gameplay mechanic in the sequel. Of course, Kaos is hopeful that the game is every bit as successful as they would like; as we told you previously the very survival of the studio could hinge on the success of the title. It is confirmed that THQ Montreal will be working on the franchise in conjunction with Kaos moving forward, but it is still up in the air if Kaos will be relocated and integrated into THQ Montreal.

Homefront will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on March 15 in North America, with the European release slated for March 18. Early pre-orders continue to indicate strong sales for the title and THQ has already confirmed that Homefront has already racked up the largest pre-order numbers in the company’s history.
