Partners sold out GTX 590 in Europe

Written by Fuad Abazovic

Shops still have them, US sold out
Geforce GTX 590 at its default clock might not be the fastest card around, but despite the fact that Radeon HD 6990 wins in some benchmarks, GTX 590 still sells well.

A few partners have reported that each partner got a few hundred cards at launch, and most of them also confirmed that they sold these samples pretty much instantly. Don’t be affraid, according to buy.fudzilla.com or Geizhals price search there are plenty of cards in Austria and Germany and you can even get them in the UK market.

Let me remind you that Nvidia did drop the price in EU countries from original €650 including VAT to close to €600 including VAT. In the German speaking countries, cards are listed and most partner cards are available here.

Unfortunately the cards are sold out at Newegg and we could not find them available in the US market. Both Asus and EVGA cards are listed but none of them have them available. You can check it here. The second batch of cards is expected in some two weeks from today or four weeks from the official launch of March 24th.  So some cards should be coming US way in roughly two weeks, so placing a pre-order might not be a bad idea.

Does sound like there were many cards to begin with. This is not surprising given the terrible yields of the 580 chip.

The EVGA EU store still has some classified GTX 590s in stock but in the USA they are definitely out of stock as the writer mentioned. This seems to indicate that there are a lot of NVIDIA customers who desire these cards. I'm surprised that NVIDIA is not producing more.

gotta link on those poor yields? i looked but all i found were the opposite. hope you're not confusing GF100 with GF110, cuz that would really suck for you.

This item is sold at a loss, look what is the pricing of GTX580? $500+ x1.5-1.8 that not equal to $600

6970 is sold for $350 x 1.5-1.8 = 600 more or less

Naturally nvidia wont mass produce a product that is not productive.

Hmmm, did these sell out? Or did the majority explode and the 5 or 6 cards left over got sold or issued replacemets for faulty cards. Not really a great success for Nvidia. I mean really who is buying these?

The HD 6990 is faster and cheaper, you really have to be an extreme Nvidia fanboy who buys for the brand name 'Nvidia' regardless of how poor the product performance is to buy one of these. HD 6990 can be picked up for £470 that is a good card performance/price..

Funny how you don't hear much about this from Nvidia as surely IF they were making money and selling out of the 590 then you would think they would be on top of it proclaiming how they are RAMPPING UP production to meet demands.
Truth is , those who bought it are far and few and the numbers will just get frewer here on out.
For those who say Prove it, I say why not SHOW US the sales numbers then NVIDIA .

Sells well my ass. Probably few thousand units has been sold worldwide. GTX590 is a collectors item like 8800 Ultra.
