Qualcomm roadmap confirms no DX10 and 11 by 2013+

Not for dual, not for quad, 28nm
We have seen a Qualcomm roadmap that was posted even publically at few places and this plan for new 28nm chips reveals that we got things right, there will be no DX10 and 11 for future Qualcomm mobile chips.

Qualcomm is about to launch its 28nm dual core Krait based chip with 1.5 to 1.7 GHz core clocked called 8260A and this core has Adreno 225 3D graphics, capable of delivering 125 million triangles a second , with support for DirectX 9.3.

There will be another chip in Q3 2013 with LTE support codenamed 8230 and this one is dual core with 1.0 to 1.2GHz clock and Adreno 305 a 3D core that can process 80 million triangles / sec and still stuck with DirectX 9.3.

In Q1 2013, roughly year after the first quad core in 40nm from Nvidia and later than Samsung’s chip for PS Vita, Qualcomm plans quad core with 2.0 to 2.5GHz clock and again Adreno 320 3D core with 225 million transistors a second and still DirectX 9.3.

Our original story was right all along. We will try to talk to Qualcomm about its graphics soon.
