Diablo III senior producer departs

Written by David Stellmack

Parker announces departure via Twitter feed

It is strange what you can find out on Twitter these days. People use it for all kinds of things and the most popular in the video game world seems to be announcing that you are leaving the company that you are currently employed with.

Over the weekend, Blizzard’s Senior Producer for Diablo III (none other than Steve Parker) announced that he is no longer working on the Diablo III project, and that he is no longer with Blizzard. With a simple, “I’m no longer working at Blizzard or on D3,” Parker went on to say, “I’ve had a great five years there, and those guys are going to kill it with Diablo 3.”

The news actually isn’t really that surprising, considering that Blizzard is still apparently making major changes to the title. According to the latest we are now hearing, the title is apparently now slated for what is being called an early 2012 release. Of course, it is anyone’s guess when exactly that might be, but we do expect to hear more soon. No word on if the departure of Parker is related to the changes in Diablo III.
