Xbox Live games headed to iOS, Android

Microsoft is apparently planning to enter the iOS and Android markets with Xbox Live games.

The move seems logical as iOS and Android are the dominant mobile gaming platforms, while Redmond’s own Windows Phone OS is still playing catch up.

“While the Xbox Live experiences and games always work best on the Windows platform, we understand that some Xbox fans may be using other types of devices. To satisfy that need, we are working to extend a few of our Xbox experiences and titles to other platforms,” a Microsoft spokesman told Forbes.

Of course, there are no details yet and it could take a while before we see Xbox content on Android, but Microsoft has already made some inroads in the iOS market.
