One step above Desire C

HTC has slipped out the latest addition to the Desire lineup, the budget-friendly Desire U. Although not officially launched in Europe or North America, the new Desire U is detailed on HTC's Taiwan site and by the looks of it should fit in above the entry-level Desire C smartphone.

The Desire U is based around a 4-inch 800x480 screen and powered by yet to be detailed single-core 1GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB of storage space and microSD card slot and comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera. HTC also threw in Android 4.0, Beats Audio, 802.11bgn WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Unfortunately, the price is still unknown as is the info on whether we will actually see this one in Europe or anywhere else in the world.
