Written by David Stellmack

No waiting till November 22nd after all

Electronic Arts and developer Ghost Games have confirmed that Need for Speed Rivals will be a PlayStation 4 launch title. Originally EA planned a November 19th release both the PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One release of the game.

With the release date change, Rivals will be available in time for the North American launch of the PlayStation 4 on November 15th. The Xbox One version is still scheduled for release on November 22nd, just ahead of the North American launch of the Xbox One on November 22nd. The Xbox 360, PC, and PlaySation 3 versions of Rivals are still scheduled for launch on November 19th with no change.

With the early release of the PS4 version of the game, this Frostbite 3 powered title will strengthen the PS4 release day lineup and increase the number of titles that will be available for the PS4 on its North American release.
