Compro, a company known for its cloud IP video surveillance solutions, has released its first Cloud IP Camera that can control your home appliances. Two models are available for the time being, the TN900RW and the TN900R.
The N900RW package includes the USB wireless adapter while the other model, without the W suffix, uses a wiired LAN connection. The user can easily log-in to the C4home cloud service to control electrical devices via their smartphones anytime, anywhere.
Both cameras are are equipped with a built-in IR transmitter/receiver and they are capable of remote directional and zoom control, a feature known as pan–tilt–zoom or shortly PTZ. Also, the 340 degree Pan and 100 degree Tilt design adds extra flexibility to avoid possible dead angles. The entire remote control operation can be followed with live 720P video so that users can see and confirm success of the operation without mistakes. The quality of the HD viewing on the mobile phone
Whole setup seems easy - simply plug-in the cables or connect via WiFi, scan QR code for mobile app and camera install, and then your camera is ready to be viewed and shared on the Internet.
In low-light conditions, the 12 built-in IR LEDs are automatically switched on to provide additional infrared light that help deliver a clear night-time image. Also there is a built-in temperature sensor to detect the current temperature in your room, and send alert notice to your mobile device when it’s too hot or cold. Hopefully a smoke detector will be included in upcoming releases.
Thanks to two-way audio support via a built-in microphone and speaker, you can eavesdrop on your pets from work, or threaten burglars with bodily harm, all from your office PC or smartphone.
Compro is marketing its TN900RW 720P/HD PTZ Cloud Network Camera with IR Remote Controller as a semi-professional piece of kit, and at $319 it is clearly not a cheap toy.
