While it was generally expected that Nvidia's upcoming mid-range Geforce GTX 960 will have a narrower memory bus, in addition to fewer CUDA cores and TMUs, fresh rumors suggest the GTX 960 will feature the same 256-bit memory interface and 4GB of memory as the Geforce GTX 970.
According to sample shipping manifest, leaked out by India's customs department and spotted by Techpowerup.com, it appears that the Geforce GTX 960 will pack 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 256-bit memory interface. The same sample shipping manifest also reveals some details regarding the clocks, showing that the GPU works at 993MHz while 4GB of memory is clocked at 6.0GHz.
Unfortunately, that shipping manifest does not confirm if the GTX 960 is actually based on a cut-down version of the GM204 GPU or based on a new GPU, the previously rumored GM206.
