Swedish prosecutor Håkan Roswall intends to prosecute the Pirate Bay crew, following a highly publicized raid on their servers back in May 2006. The prosecutor said that the individuals are charged with breaches of copyright law "and for helping others to break copyright law and conspiring to break copyright law".
Pirate Bay's Tobias Andersson feels confident that the prosecution will not succeed and claims that publicity is behind their decision to press charges. In a statement for Sweden's The Local he said "It would look bad otherwise since they had 20 to 30 police officers involved in the raid." He told journalist that if the Pirate Bay were to be outlawed in Sweden they would move their operations elsewhere, confidently stating that "There will be no downtime".
Is this just a futile gesture of defiance by Viking pirates, or will the Pirate Bay keep operating as if nothing has happened ?
