Gigabyte X99P-SLI gets Thunderbolt 3

First Thunderbolt 3 X99 motherboard blesssed by Intel

Gigabyte has released its X99P-SLI board which it claims is the first Intel Thunderbolt 3 certified X99 motherboard.

The board uses the ATX form-factor and supports the latest Intel Core i7 processors in a LGA2011-3 package, It is based on the Intel X99 Express chipset and has eight DDR4 DIMM slots. The board supports up to 128GB quad-channel memory. Expansion slots include 2 PCI Express x16 running at x16, 2 PCI Express x16 slots running at x8, and 2 PCI Express x1 slots.

The headline feature is the 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 port, but there are also two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, NVIDIA Quad-GPU SLI/AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX support, Intel GbE LAN, Realtek ALC1150 115dB SNR HD audio with built-in rear audio amp. The DDR4 XMP supports up to 3333MHz. There are stainless steel connectors on rear panel for those who often stain their connectors and an audio noise guard with multi-color choices of LED trace path lighting.
