Better power management for smoother gaming

It appears that AMD AGESA 1002a BIOS update has started to show up for some motherboards and that it fixes power management problems seen with the Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G APUs, providing both better performance and smoother gameplay - in some games.

Not worth doing

One of AMD's recently released Ryzen 2000 series CPUs, codename Pinnacle Ridge, has had its top taken off by Der8auer showing that these are still soldered to the IHS and that such a process is simply not worth doing due to small temperature differences.

The Ryzen 3 2200GE and Ryzen 5 2400GE

In addition to the official launch of its 2nd generation Ryzen 2000-series CPUs based on Zen+ architecture, AMD has also released two low power Ryzen APUs based on Raven Ridge design with TDP set at 35W, the Ryzen 3 2200GE and the Ryzen 5 2400GE.

But not before the summer

Jim Anderson, senior vice president at AMD, has hinted that a second-generation Ryzen CPUs with a Ryzen 7 2800X, is in the works and indicated that AMD has held off on releasing the more powerful part to wait and see what Intel does first.

AMD is gathering evidence that Nvidia's partner programme is part of a clever game of monopoly designed to force suppliers to land on Park Lane and Mayfair.

Buried in the announcement about the four new 400-series chipset was the news that Enmotus was behind AMD's new StoreMI technology or Store Machine Intelligence.

AMD has announced the global availability of its second Generation AMD Ryzen desktop processors, which it claims, offer up to 15 percent higher gaming performance than the first generation.

AOC has unveiled its latest gaming monitor in the AGON-series, the 32-inch AOC AGON AG322QC4, which comes with a 31.5-inch 3-sided frameless VA-panel, 2560x1440 resolution and support for both AMD FreeSync 2 and DisplayHDR 400.
