But it might work with Globalfoundries
In a recent interview with expreview, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said
the green graphics giant won't try to make its own x86 CPU, and that it
won't acquire VIA either.
"Intel and AMD have already done great enough. I don’t think we can do
even better, but we are capable of making the best GPUs," said Huang,
reiterating his previously reported comments on x86 production, and
going one step further, saying VIA is not an option. At least not now.
When asked about Intel's next gen CPUs with integrated graphics, Huang
shrugs of any concerns, saying that if such graphics were any good,
they wouldn't be free. Huang still sees a lot of room for Nvidia's ION
chipset, both on Atom and Core 2 Duo based systems.
Interestingly, when asked about the transition to 40nm, Huang said
Nvidia was already in talks with Globalfoundries, and that they are
evaulating the possibilities of working with the AMD spin-off.
