The Wikipad is a 10.1’-inch tablet with detachable controls, which will ship with each device. The devices will all run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Wikipad will run on Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 T30 clocked at 1.4GHz. The T30’s graphics cores, which tick at 520MHz, will handle the 1280x800 IPS display.
It will have 1GB of DDR2 and at least 16GB of internal storage. Wikipad’s president of sales Fraser Townley has said that the internal storage can only go up and will most likely depend on what’s considered standard at the moment.
The controller adds physical controls to the Wikipad and, as you can see, it should be good for most users. Additionally, it doubles up as a sort of natural equalizer, since it covers the speakers and causes the sound to be heard from the front.

The Wikipad will weigh in at around 560 grams and be about 8.6mm thick. It will come with an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and speakers on the back. The device will be powered by a 23.46Wh battery, which should be good for six hours of gaming or eight hours of video.
Just for comparison purposes, the Nexus 7 uses the T30L, a quad-core running at 1.2GHz and with 416MHz graphics. As for the actual Android consoles, Archos’ ICS console Ludo G10 will run on the yet to be released dual-core Texas Instruments 4470 chipset running at 1.8GHz whereas OUYA has Tegra 3 T33 running at 1.6GHz.
The Wikipad is expected to launch later this year, but we’re sure we’ll hear much more about it until then.
