European phone companies are set to
release more IPTV products this week.
According to the New York Times, Deutsche
Telekom is spending 3 billion euros and has linked about 40 percent of German
households to broadband TV.
With IPTV, subscribers pay 30 to 60 euros
a month to receive digital broadcasts over the phone companies' networks, to be
watched on televisions or computers. Companies like Deutsche Telekom, Telecom
Italia and Vodafone are using the Internationale Funkausstellung, the
Continent's largest consumer electronics convention, to introduce their IPTV
expansions.
