A man from Illinois was sentenced to 30 months for his part in the distribution of approximately 20,000 copyright works over the Internet through wares sites.

Fourty year old Eli El pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement back in May.

El had access to several warez sites and uploaded pirated software onto them. The majority of his offenses are related to a warez site named "The Ether Net".

He is the 12th defendant to be convicted in Operation Safehaven, a huge 15 month long investigation dating back to 2003.
