Q3 Earnings double for RIM

More customers jumping to Blackberry devices


Research in Motion (RIM) reported that its third quarter earnings are more than double what the company expected. As more consumers and companies choose Blackberry devices, RIM continues to grow its core business with strong demand for its products.

Upon the release of the earnings report for the third quarter, RIM’s shares jumped more than 11 percent. The company reported income of .65 per share compared to .31 per share this same time last year. RIM shipped over 3.9 million handsets last quarter and added over 1.65 million new subscribers.
