EA thinks PS3 will be the leader this year

Electronic Arts has suggested that the PlayStation 3 will sell between 4.5 to 5.5 million consoles this year, which will best the Xbox 360, which they expect to only sell between 1.5 to 2.5 million units this year. In addition, EA says that they expect the Nintendo Wii to continue its strong sales this year to 12 to 13 million more units sold worldwide.

While EA has suggested that many developers have experienced ramp up issues in getting PS3 titles out the door while coming to grips with the vast technology that the PS3 offers, they expect 2008 to be much better due to the experience that they have previously had working on PS3 titles. They expect to cover some of the frame rate issues that they experienced with NHL Hockey and NHL Madden football on the PS3 last year.
