$1.5 million worth of iPad minis stolen at JFK

Turns out Joe Pesci is an Apple fanboy

It’s not exactly tech news, but a couple of daring thieves seem to have stolen more than 3,600 iPad minis from New York’s JFK airport earlier this week. The New York Post puts the cost of the looted pads at $1.5 million.

Oddly enough, the heist took place it the same cargo terminal used in the 1978 Lufthansa heist, masterfully depicted in Scrocese’s Goodfellas.

The real life goodfellas used a forklift to load two pallets of iPad minis onto a truck and they were planning to grab three more, but they were forced to leave them behind after an airport employee showed up.

Investigators believe it could have been an inside job, but the crooks are still at large. We are assuming they did not use Apple Maps to plan their getaway. Oddly enough, Nick Farrell asked for a day off earlier this week.

So, if you live in the New York area and happen to love Apple gear, the mob will have the best Black Friday deals this year, no contest.
