The Logitech G213 Prodigy RGB keyboard actually comes with Mech-Dome switches, which is a different approach compared to the G610 Orion Brown and the flagship G810 Orion Spectrum keyboards, based on Cherry MX Brown and Romer G switches, respectively.
According to a new blog post over at Logitech, the Mech-Dome switches actually have an actuation profile similar to a Cherry MX Brown switch but also add the spill resistance and quiet operation that you would get from a membrane keyboard. The Mech-Dome switches have a tactile bump force of 45g, a maximum force of 55g and a full key height with a total travel of 4mm, making them identical to the Cherry MX Brown switches.
This means that the Logitech G213 Prodigy RGB is not a mechanical keyboard but rather a mechanical/dome hybrid, which brings quieter operation, full RGB lighting and spill resistance, all for $69.
As we wrote earlier when it was introduced, the Logitech G213 Prodigy RGB will probably end up as the best-selling keyboard in Logitech's gaming lineup as it offers plenty for its price and if that is not enough, there is always the flagship G810 Orion Spectrum. Hopefully, Logitech will also consider making a tenkeyless version of the G213 Prodigy RGB, which could be perfect for LAN parties.
