Launches in February

According to a report in Chinese-language Apple Daily, Acer's new 10-inch Aspire One netbook will be priced at $399 and produced by Compal Electronics.

The new Aspire One is expected to feature similar specs to current 9-inch models, i.e. it will be based on Intel's Atom platform, but further details are sketchy at the moment.

Although Acer currently offers just a single 9-inch netbook model, its competitive pricing and popularity allowed the company to dethrone Asus and take the lead in the netbook market toward the end of 2008.

Reportedly, the new Aspire One should be launched in February, and ship in black, red and white colour options.
