Birmingham City University has come up with a new way to make money on students who prefer Facebook to actual school books.

It plans to offer a one-year program that will teach courses in Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, teaching its students a thing or two about blogging and constructing social networks. After finishing the courses and paying $6,275, the student will get a degree in social media.

However, a student claims the proposed program is so basic that all the content of the course can easily be self-taught, unless you have $6,275 to burn.
