Users complain about battery problems with the Pixel 6 Pro

It gets a little hot

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth yarn claiming that the Pixel 6 Pro has been overheating and draining its battery rather too fast.

The problems appeared after an update that began rolling out on 12 May. One user complained that they saw massive battery usage from Google app and to a lesser degree Android System Intelligence.

One Reddit user wrote that the battery was not lasting and the phone is getting really warm. He thought the problem must be harming the battery and the CPU.

Those who have tried contacting Google report the company's support staff haven't been accommodating.

Some users say rolling back to an older version of the Google app hasn't fixed the problem for them.

"I ended up with an even older version from May 10 which is still draining the battery," wrote one Redditor.

It is possible that the problem may be server-side and Google app keeps wrecking the battery regardless of version. It might be that the app is trying to call home or on a loop with something like that, but the symptoms remain the same.
