Asus for branded products only

Asus has announced that it's making some major changes to its business by spinning off it's ODM businesses into two wholly owned subsidies. The new companies are Pegatron Technology and Unihan Technology.

Pegatron Technology will take over Asus ODM system business, with Unihan Technology being in charge of chassis and none PC related ODM business.

These spinoff companies should be up and running from January 1st 2008 and this means some additional changes to the currenty company structure at Asus.

Pegatron Technology will be in charge of ASRock, AMA and an Asus facility in Mexico while Unihan Technology will take over a factory in the Czech Republic among its responsibilites.

This all makes sense in terms of business in it allows Asus to focus on its core products and it shouldn't affect any of the retail business.
