It will get done eventually

For those PlayStation 3 Killzone fans that have been waiting for word that Killzone 3 was on the way, it would appear that Sony has committed to a third installment or Killzone 3, if you will, but as far as when you can expect it, you are in for a wait.

Sony’s head PlayStation honcho for North American is said to have said that “it will happen eventually.” While this does not really say much for when it will happen, it just says that it will happen. According to some moles we know, Sony is planning to officially announce Killzone 3 at E3 this year, but it is unlikely that you are going to see much game play for it, if any. Killzone 3 will likely be timed for release in 2011, would be our best guess.

The claims about a Killzone 3 announcement would fit in with the rumors that Sony is looking to deal some surprising announcements at E3 this year. Tretton has been quoted as saying “we will be absolutely bringing the heat this year at E3.” Like many analysts, we agree that Sony is going to need some major announcements and solid delivery dates for this holiday season. In addition, they need a solid plan going forward to take on Microsoft as well as Nintendo if they want to really get back into the game. Despite the predictions of some analysts, we think that claims of a Sony eventual victory are overblown and unlikely, unless they really start a push; and so far this year, that just has not happened.
