Sixth gear cheaters to lose place on leaderboard

The developers at Turn 10 studios are hard at work on another milestone patch for Forza 3. Perhaps the most interesting thing that will be fixed in this patch is what is called the “sixth gear exploit.” This exploit, in addition to another exploit called the “transmission swap” exploit, allowed players to go faster and obtain better times on the leaderboards.

The upcoming patch will also offer team racing support which is something that community has been asking for. From the feedback that we have seen within the community this could prove to be one of the most popular additions to Forza 3 and has the potential to become one of the most popular of the online modes that people choose to play. The team racing mode, when released in this upcoming patch, will offer a few new game styles such as Cat and Mouse, as well as Tag.

Changes to the drag racing mode will be coming in this patch, as well. The tweaks for the drag racing mode directly have come from the feedback of the community. The majority of them will be centered around the ability to control revs prior to the catch launching using a manual transmission with a clutch. This will lead to more realistic drag racing and has the potential to lead to some better times, as well.

As for when the patch will actually arrive, that has yet to be announced. The thinking is that the March DLC content for Forza 3 will be announced first and then a release date for the patch. Our sources seem to think that Turn 10 will get the patch out in March, but it might dip into early April if testing does not go well.
