As we explained in a story the other day, Sega is working on porting Dreamcast titles for release on Xbox Live Arcade. Apparently, the next title to be headed to Xbox Live Arcade will be none other than Shenmue II.

While calling it a Dreamcast title is a bit weird because while it was released in Japan as a Dreamcast release, here in North America it was actually ported to the original Xbox and released on that platform instead. Screenshots of Microsoft’s PartnerNet network show a title called Berkley II, which was the codename for Shenmue when it was in development. So, we are pretty sure that this is which title it is.

While Sega has not confirmed anything yet, the closer we get to E3 and the more of these Dreamcast title rumors we hear about appearing on XBLA, we have to think that an announcement is coming. While I guess you could still call it a rumor, the whispers we hear combined with the evidence do seem to make it a done deal.
