Will showcase new titles later

One of the companies that everyone always likes to see at E3 is Rockstar. It seems that the studio never disappoints with great announcements and good demos of upcoming titles. In a surprising move, Rockstar has decided to skip E3 this year to instead later showcase their titles in a privately hosted event in the weeks ahead. No additional info seems to be circulating publicly on for this last-minute decision by the studio.

This totally cancels the expected E3 launch of a rumored new title that the studio was expected to show. In addition, show goers will not be able to check out the latest builds of Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire, both of which are currently deep in development at Rockstar.

The decision not to show both Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire could end up being questionable due to the fact that both titles were announced in 2006; development has continued for a rather long cycle with really very little coming from the studio in the way of information on how the game is progressing. Normally at E3, developers show off demos of latest builds of the game and are  on hand to watch and study feedback from the people playing these demos builds of the software. Often times, this feedback is vital to confirming that the game is headed in the right direction.

While the whispers we hear don’t actually seem to point to an exact problem, our sources claim that Rockstar was not ready to launch this new title, combined with the fact that the latest builds and demos for Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire might not be as far along as the studio might like. It is doubtful that we will ever know the exact reason for their decision.
