Activision to deliver new experience for Nintendo

While there have been many 007 games over the years, none of them were able to capture the excitement and praise that the N64 version of GoldenEye did. Activision apparently will attempt to recapture the magic of the original GoldenEye with a new revival of the game for the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms.

According to what our sources tell us, the game will be an updated romp through the GoldenEye story that will use the latest technology advantages of the Wii and DS platforms to deliver an updated experience. Part of the title update will feature Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond.

Stories of a golden gun-type shell for the Wii Remote have been hinted at, as well, for the Wii version of the title. Pictures suggest that a least a prototype has been built, but according to the whispers that we hear, no decision has been made whether the Wii version of the title will actually use it. Activision is a bit more cautious these days in its investment of money in game peripherals after the disaster that was Tony Hawk Ride with the skateboard peripheral that cost a lot and didn’t perform that well.

From the word that we have heard from our sources, Activision is working with developer Eurocom and n-Space to deliver the new title. According to what we hear, Activision will be making the grand announcement of the title at E3; and apparently the game has been in development for some time and it is expected to arrive in November for the holiday season this year.
