Radeon HD 3650 is the commercial name for the RV635, 55nm chip, and this 'new' old chip has 378 million transistors. That is 12 million less than Radeon HD 2600 generation based on the RV630 65nm chip.
This time around ATI is not late, the chips are on time, and one more time ATI is ahead of Nvidia in going to smaller half-node architecture. At the same time, the chip has 120 stream processors, eight texture units, four Render back ends and support for DirectX 10.1 and PCIe 2.0.
The core works at 725MHz and it supports UVD, Tessellation unit and power play. All this comes for $99 -and we are talking about a DDR3 card.
