Samsung Moment slider is on the way

With Verizon and AT&T already announcing their Android offerings, it comes as no surprise that Sprint, as well as most carriers, will be adding an android powered offering as well.

Sprint will be going with Samsung for their first Android offering and the name of the new smartphone will be the Moment. The Moment is a slider that uses a 3.2” AMOLED screen with a 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and GPS support. It will offer a sizzling 800MHz processor that should make it one of the fastest and most powerful of the Android devices released so far.

While the Moment will not use the TouchWiz US, it will sell for $179.00 with a two-year contract. Our sources can’t confirm an official release date yet, but they suspect that it will ship before the end of the holiday season.
