Slim touchscreen QNX powered device coming Q3 2012

Rumors of a new touchscreen BlackBerry that is being called codename “London” have been circulating for a while. While we knew that the “Colt” was going to be the first QNX OS-powered BlackBerry to arrive next year, that apparently has been scrapped, and London is now said to be the first model. The news of the London is actually quite exciting, as it is a very slender, forward-thinking touch screen model that looks pretty hot.

The first news of the London came from dummy image that was posted on the Verge. While the London looks a lot more progressive than many of the handsets we have seen from RIM in the past couple of years, many will wonder if it is too little too late. The London is apparently being slated for Q3 next year.

The reason for the delay might have a lot to do with RIM needing more time to get BES and BBM working on the QNX OS devices. Of course, this is necessary; BES and BBM are two important features that are the foundation of what RIM is still able to offer over its competitors.
