Gionee Elife S8 Helio P10 launches at MWC

by on12 February 2016

Confirmed, but shipping in March…

Gionee Elife S8 will launch at the Mobile World Congress 2016 and the company has sent invitations. The phone will launch on Monday February 22, but it will ship at a later date.

GeekBench and GFXbench have shared some interesting information about this upcoming phone. The phone comes with MediaTek MT6755, Helio P10 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and Android 6.0. The Helio P10 works at 1.9 GHz and comes with Mali T860 GPU.

We like the fact that Gionee Elife S8 is a 4.6 inch phone, something that many will consider as a mini phone these days. It packs a full HD 1920x1080 screen. The fact that the phone has 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage will please most of you and we would not be surprised to see the support for microSD either.

The rear camera has a 15 megapixel resolution (4608 x 3456) while the front camera has 7 megapixel (3264 x 2448) and surprisingly even the 4K video support with UHD (4K) (3840 x 2160) resolution. Things might have been mixed up, as the rear camera supports 1680 x 1248. Most likely it is the other way around but the Helio P10 supports 4K video. Gionee confirmed that the phone has support for pressure sensitive display, that is something that we expect to see a lot from the phones in 2016.

It looks like that the phone doesn’t have a NFC and we are not sure about the state of the fingerprint sensor either. Still if priced right, the Gionee Elife S8 might sell well.
